Furman SPB-8C Stereo Pedalboard

Often imitated, the original Furman SPB-8 was the first stereo pedal board on the market. Furman now offers its successor, the SPB-8C Powered Pedal Board. Featuring a hardshell case, more outlets, improved jacks, and a streamlined look, the SPB-8C improves on the innovative design that made the original pedal board so popular.
Pedal Board
The SPB-8C pedal board features heavy duty metal construction that will handle the most forceful stomps you can offer, as well as stand up to the rigors of the road. At the heart of the SPB-8C pedal board is a light yet rugged polycarbonate platform in combination with an extruded aluminum chassis and an ample 13.75" x 26.75" Velcro sheet. This durable construction ensures secure, non-slip performance of your effects boxes and pedals.
The SPB-C's stereo patch bay contains eight 1/4" switching phone jacks featuring sturdy metal bushings, connected in two stereo loops. This allows a single guitar or instrument input to feed multiple mono and stereo effects boxes, send and return from remote effects, and feed up to two amplifiers simultaneously. From modest to highly complex patching demands, the SPB-8C allows nearly unlimited set-up flexibility.
Powering your pedals, amps and other gear, the SPB-8C offers two levels of surge and short circuit protection, as well as Furman's standard level of RFI/EMI filtering. Furman's SPB-8C is quiet, powering DC pedals without hum, due to the high quality toroid transformer employed. Each DC output is rated at 120 mA, as well as being individually protected against shorts, guaranteeing that if one pedal goes out, the rest will continue to function. Further, these DC outputs are individually isolated, eliminating noisy ground loops. The SPB-8C also includes four AC outlets, spaced widely enough to accommodate bulky wall wart" transformers.
Hardshell Case
The Furman SPB-8C features a durable polyethylene hardshell case. Built to cater to the demands of the working professional, the case is large enough to accommodate the pedal board and all attached effects, allowing the musician to keep all pedals and stompboxes patched and connected from gig to gig. A retractable handle and inline skate wheels allow for easy transport, while heavy-duty latches ensure the case will remain securely closed when not in use.

The third expansion pack for FXpansion's BFD, the BFD Deluxe Collection delivers drum sounds that are unparalleled in detail and recording quality. The entire Deluxe Collection was tracked at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio facility in Chicago. This expansion pack contains some of the most sought-after drums and cymbals of all time, recorded at up to 128 velocity layers for expressive, pristine detail during play.
Recorded in a smaller and more up-front room than the one used to record the drums for BFD and BFD XFL, the Deluxe Collection has an extremely punchy and defined sound. Unique recording techniques also contribute to the clear sound and defined character of the pack. It delivers some legendary Ludwig kits, including a Vistalite from the 1970s with 6 toms and 2 kicks and a 1965 Clubdate. Several modern classic kits are included also such as a Sonor Designer, a Yamaha Pro Tour, a DW Black Oyster Pearl, and a Gretsch USA Maple. Finally, a prototype BackYard Drums kit was flown to Chicago especially for the sessions. The Deluxe Collection represents the first time these exquisite boutique drums have ever been recorded. The collection also contains a Ludwig Supraphonic 'Bonzo' snare and a Bison maple piccolo. The kicks were equipped with felt, rubber, or plastic beaters. Five Zildjian hihats, including 14" and 15" New Beats and a 13" Z Dynobeat, and a large assortment of Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, and Wuhan cymbals all have been included.

Sticks, brushes, mallets, rods and hands Most of the instruments in the collection are provided in stick and brushed versions, with selected pieces also played with mallets, rods and even hands! A wide range of controlled, dynamic articulations are featured, including some never heard before in a BFD library. The kits are recorded in a warm, bright-sounding room, using high-end mics and preamps chosen for their transparency and accuracy. The instruments are recorded with up to 46 velocity layers, using multiple articulations and multiple mic channels including lush, stereo ambience. As always, carefully-selected high-end mics, preamps and converters were used for the sessions. The resulting sounds faithfully capture the musicality, expressive depth and dynamic scope of this eclectic percussion collection, and are perfect for use in a variety of musical styles and genres.
Recorded at Omega Studios in Maryland, USA by the same team that brought you BFD Jazz & Funk Collection, BFD Percussion's sounds provide a wealth of creative sonic possibilities when manipulated by BFD's multi-channel drum mixing, groove-playing and audio routing technology.
Lush and expressive With this being a BFD expansion pack, everything is recorded with deep expressive detail: up to 46 velocity layers, multiple articulations and multiple mic channels. The room is small and intimate: tight and controlled but with a lush sense of space, something which is captured faithfully in the stereo ambient channels.
The recording chain was set up for maximum detail, precision and transparency: Royer ribbon mics and Neumann condensers, amongst others, were recorded into Digidesign HD converters through API, Focusrite Red and ISA115 preamps. The aim was to capture the diverse instruments as naturally and accurately as possible.
A diverse range of pieces Amongst the highlights are congas, bongos, timbales, djembes, darbukas, udu, ashiko, bodhran, chimes, triangles, cowbells, jamblocks, woodblocks and temple blocks! A variety of shakers and tambourines are also included, along with esoteric effect sounds such as thundersheets, flexatones, waterphones and bowed gongs.
Additionally, a grotesquely beautiful assortment of junk percussion opens up new creative avenues: plastic and metal trashcans, saw blades, stiletto heels, buckets, spoons, saucepans, watercoolers and a plethora of other random household objects of sonic interest.
Brand new grooves Finally, a library of Grooves provides ready-made inspiration and creative ideas for using the sounds in your music. A variety of world and general purpose Grooves are included, along with example kits and programs.
BFD Percussion was produced by John Emrich, a musician and engineer who lives and breathes drums and percussion. Not only useful as a sound source for your own drum programming, BFD also incorporates a comprehensive library of ready-to-use MIDI grooves with different styles, feels, and time signatures. The library features both programmed grooves and MIDI recordings of real drummers, including top UK session drummer Chris Dagley (Jamiroquai, Lalo Schifrin, Ella Fitzgerald, Eric Clapton, Chaka Khan).
The advanced, integrated Groove Librarian allows you to drag and drop the included grooves or import your own MIDI grooves. You can then trigger them in realtime from a keyboard or let the BFD freestyle with the auto-shuffle and auto-fill features.
BFD's humanization functions inject that elusive "soul" into your drum parts. The integrated swing controls make it easy to tighten or relax the vibe as much as required. On top of this, the sound of the groove can be further humanized through the controlled randomization of velocity and timing.
